Baptism

Saturday, March 27th we had a small informal Baptismal service for Micah. It was simple and led by Pr. Jon Larson at our home church in Woodbury. It was a special time that we will always remember. To hear the words "Micah, child of God, you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever." Was a very special moment. All I could do was cry.

During the short service Kyle was vying for attention. First wanted to take a bath himself, then play with the candle and in the end he was all over the place. He loves being in church and thought that it was so fun! All I could do was smile.

Micah on the other hand was battling an ear infection and was screaming for minutes on end right before the service. Then as Jon was pouring water over his head it scared Micah and he arched back and hit his head on the bottom of the bowl. Thus started his screaming and crying all over again. All I could do was laugh.

Before the Baptism service I heard these words from Jeremiah 1:5 -"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations". I know that Micah is God's child...and even though we don't understand why or how we have this "bit of heaven" it is reassuring to know that God knows what he is doing, even when we do not.
