Prayer

I heard a great sermon this weekend by one of my friends. It was about Mary and her response to the angel Gabriel. The dialogue is a great moment of faith. Mary's response to the "impossible and improbable" task before her is, "I am here." The pastor reminded me that this kind of response could only be done in the midst of much prayer.

There is no way that Gary or I feel prepared to walk this journey ahead of us. We feel inept as parents (and often wonder how Kyle has survived all these 22 months) and feel pretty weak these days. The hugeness of this task of raising Micah with all his special needs (most that we have no idea of at this point) gives us great stress. So much so the only thing we can do is pray. Just like Mary did so many years ago.

It's strange to fathom the things that God trust us with, or thinks we can handle. His trust in us is more than we belive in. And to live in the midst of this is hard. But I've come to learn that when we disagree with God - we end up squashing the miracles He intends. There is a miracle here - we just can't see it right now.

Please pray for us! Pray that we will have the strength to live our lives in prayer just at Mary did. For we know this is the only way we will get through these days!

  1. It was great to see your family a few weeks ago. Micah is a special gift from God, and he will touch and bless those he comes into contact with every day of his life.

Our prayers for your strength as you travel this incredible journey with Micah.
