The doctor informed us that Micah's system can't handle illnesses like most other babies his age and size. Therefore she is recommending that we keep him away from large groups, restrict travel and away from other kids until the flu season is over (May).
This means a change in plans for much of our lives. Kyle will not be able to go to daycare anymore because he will take home the germs from his friends and get Micah sick. This will be a hard transition for Kyle. He so loves going to "school" two days a week. I'm broken up about this too! To see the joy on his face when he gets to play with his friends is amazing.
This also may mean I won't be able to return to work. I'm looking into other options, possibly a nanny, that would come to the home and therefore limit the exposure to the outside world. Please keep us in your prayers as this transition to being "at home" may just make us all go insane during the winter months!
