Micah's been dealing with Jaundice this past week. So much so he stayed an extra day in the hospital in the special care unit in an incubator under the light machine. It was funny to see him wear a big eye mask and move around in the small machine.
The Jaundice has made him sleepy so much so that he doesn't want to eat. The goal is to get rid of the Jaundice so that he eats better and gets back to his birth weight.
I was able to stay with Micah in the hospital to help feed him. The nurses were great and very supportive. We met another mom who also had a Down's baby. It was nice to make a connection with someone who is experiencing the same thing.
We were able to take Micah home with us on Thursday. At home we continued the light treatment with a "billie blanket". He was on this for two days. We'll continue to see the Doctors daily on an outpatient basis until his weight is back to normal.
